#137 - Facing the
Unknown

Unknown:
Not recognised, known or familiar.

What a challenge!

Facing the unknown!

It seems we have habituated ourselves to wanting to know.

"I want to know about this, I want to know what's going to happen tomorrow, I want to know what's going to happen in the future".

And this is the way of the ego, it wants us in the past, or in the future.

Now, there's nothing wrong with curiosity and I absolutely endorse that and imagination, but not to be stuck in a fixation of -

"I absolutely must know what is going to happen".

Fortunately, we are in the throes of unsticking ourselves from this obsessive need.

By the way, it is a very natural notion to want to know about things, but there is a very clear distinction between what you can know about and what you cannot know about.

What is under your control, and what is not!

And that's for us to sort out.

So how do we deal with not knowing, because in essence, none of us know with 100% certainty what is going to happen tomorrow or for that matter, in 2 hours time?

This occurs all the time.

Nature continually renews and regenerates herself, things are changing, the universe, the multiverse is in a constant state of flux, it's moving, evolving, expanding and we don't have a clear idea of what is going to happen.

For our peace of mind, it is highly recommended we drop the habitual idea of insisting,

"I've got to know, I've got to know,"

and just be in a state of calm, comfortably not knowing.

Trusting that all is well and is unfolding as it should.

Everything is transpiring in the bigger Game of Life, perhaps a divine plan, or whatever label we want to assign it, then we can surrender into that and accept what is being revealed in this moment.

By dealing with it in this way, we take away our stress and conflict, because the latter is two opposing forces meeting each other.

If you put your hands together in 'Namaste', or in prayer-like fashion, push them hard against each other, you'll feel the pressure in the palms.

That's two opposing forces.

This is the inner mental conflict we create for ourselves.

So if you take away one side, there's nothing to push against!

If you remove the idea that you have to know something, then there's nothing to push against and now it can flow organically, like a stream meandering through the forest.

When we argue with reality, we always lose!!

By accepting and radically surrendering into the reality of this moment, the stress just drops away.

And who is the witness to what is arising?

You, the real you!

The powerful, infinite being who is animating your body, becoming more prominent, more real to you as the one having the experience.

"The key to behavioural evolution is in the intersection of the highest heart and the highest mind, where they become equal partners in the learning and expresson of an interconnected life."
